After Dasha & Garrett were married in a private ceremony by “Wedding on a Whim” at a local winery, we headed to the Great Plains Nature Center for some formal family and wedding party photos.  Surrounded by family and friends, they celebrated their marriage with lots of dancing, yummy cake, a fabulous dinner, and DIY S’mores!  It was so much fun to photograph in the old (privately-owned) Lilly Lake School.  It had unique lighting, whimsical and eclectic decor, and every handmade centerpiece and detail gave this reception a unique feel and character all its own.

Congratulations, Dasha & Garrett!  Thank you for sharing your day with me!

A day filled with smiles, hugs, laughter and tears of joy = the AMAZINGNESS that was Sean & Sarah’s wedding day!

father daughter dance

Not only did Sean receive an awesome personalized print from KU basketball coach, Bill Self, as a wedding gift from his bride, but the icing on the cake…he actually got to speak to Coach Self on the phone!!!  Complements of my sister-in-law, Jenn, that was assisting Allyson and me.  Jenn and my brother-in-law are friends/golfing buddies with Coach Self, and after Jenn saw how much Sarah’s gift to Sean meant to him, on a whim she spontaneously asked Sean, “You want me to call him so you can talk to him?”  And so she did!  Such a fun story Sean can tell his kids one day!  Here’s your pic, Sean, if they don’t believe it:  http://instagram.com/p/L819UwB7G5/

A huge “THANK YOU” and shout-out to my second-shooter, the incredibly talented Allyson Cheney!  She is a Kansas City photographer, and you can view her work here and here.  It was a privilege having her work with me, and the emotions, details, and candid moments she helped capture were impeccable!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Meier!!!  So happy and blessed to have been a part of your day!  I can’t wait to see what amazing things God does in your marriage. 🙂
